A Modest Proposal for April 15

How to rationalize taxes and voter behavior

An emerging field of economics - and other social and biological sciences - is how the brain processes decision-making in the short and long-terms. This has implications for the individual and for public policy.

My proposal to make tax-day a living organic and REAL event for Americans is to:

1) Get rid of with-holding taxes
2) Pay all your taxes on April 15
3) Vote on April 16.

This way your government-value-for-money is crystal clear and you can base your voting accordingly. This assumes we are stuck with the income tax, which is of course, true, and too bad, but optimistically, bad things dont last forever.
