It can't happen here

The house of representatives just passed 423 to 0 a bill putting limits on foreign investment in the USA due to 'national security' reasons. See the picture? This is protectionism by any other name. Economic close-mindedness is a sign of the fall of an empire. It starts with closing-off yourself from others, and of course over-exending yourself militarily simultaneously, just like the Romans, and the once great Japan and (to be a power again, with economic-openess) China. Economic connectedness means shared interests and peace. We can't have that now can we? That would be against the game plan.
